Dynamic, Versatile, Innovative, Going places!
This and more describe Asian cuisine today.
Do you have the Zest for it?
Zest Quest Asia is a student culinary competition inspired by Asia’s growing presence on the global stage. Now in its eighth year,
Zest Quest Asia encourages aspiring chefs enrolled in full-time education, residing in Britain, to demonstrate their skills
and knowledge of Asian cuisine.
Asia’s diverse cultures will only continue to fascinate, and stimulate.
The world’s largest continent includes the likes of China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines in the Far East, India and Sri Lanka in South Asia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in Central Asia, and parts of the Middle East and even Russia.
Asian cuisine is sophisticated and very often spectacular.
In Britain today, we can’t get enough of it.
This is only the beginning, a stepping stone to a potential career in sought-after Asian cookery. For colleges, it’s the opportunity to display your foresight and to broaden and enrich the student experience.
To-date, over 100 student chefs with permanent residency in the UK have entered Zest Quest Asia. Founded by Cyrus Todiwala OBE DL, one of the world’s most admired Indian chefs, with the support of the Master Chefs of Great Britain, the professional association for chefs working within the hospitality industry, Zest Quest Asia has seen young people from the country’s most prestigious catering colleges and universities compete for the distinction of having displayed the best knowledge and skills in Asian cuisine. Winners so far have enjoyed culinary tours to India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Japan.
More exotic destinations await future competition winners.
