The IoH Youth Council
Who are the Youth Council?

A group of young professionals at the start of their hospitality careers and future leaders. Selected from the IoH’s Associate membership, they will provide insight, advice, and recommendations to assist the Institute as it evolves.

The Youth Council’s members will be ambassadors for the Institute and will actively support the IoH’s,” I’m in” campaign – #imin. The campaign allows the hospitality family to speak with one voice and say ‘I’m in’ The Institute of Hospitality.

Chair of the Youth Council – Clare Johnson AIH

“I’m delighted to be appointed Chairperson of the AIH and am excited to collaborate with our valued members to help bring new benefits and tools to our IoH Associates during my term. I started my career at the age of 14 working in hairdressers, retail and anywhere else that would have me! My experience, working at the Grand Opera House in Belfast, is where my love for the hospitality industry began and where I gained my first supervisory role in my early 20s. My love of hospitality continued before I moved into the world of training. I’ve supported some of the UKs largest hospitality employers with their training strategies with apprenticeships being my passion. The past four years working for HIT Training, I’ve been privileged to build employee programmes that support our learners across our industry. I’m currently in the first year of my Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship.

Joining the Institute has provided fantastic opportunities to network with hospitality professionals and allowed me to learn and grow. I’m looking forward to assisting other do the same”
